Yanqing Venue, Beijing 2022 Winter Olympic Games is another national program undertaken by BG with great political significance and a global impact following the APEC venue program. Alpine Skiing Center, Bobsleigh Center, and supporting municipal engineering facilities will be developed and constructed by BG, while BG will also partake in the construction and subsequent operation of Olympic Village, Media Center, and Public Snowfield, and other PPP programs, etc.
Looking through the history of Olympics, Yanqing Venue, Beijing 2022 Winter Olympic Games, is a construction project that has the shortest construction cycle, the greatest difficulty, and the highest standards. As a key state-owned enterprise under administration of the Government of Beijing Municipality, BG actively assumes responsibility and undertakings, responsible for the development of Alpine Skiing Center, Bobsleigh Center, and supporting municipal engineering facilities. Bearing in mind the philosophy of “Green, Sharing, Open, Clean”, BG will spare no efforts in pooling resources and advancing the project, so as to practicing and passing on the spirit of Olympics, and promoting the development of snow and ice industry with the concrete actions of our staff.
Yanqing Venue is located at Songshan Area. Themed “Forestry sites, Ecological Olympics”, the venue is going to be a milestone with integrated innovation in architecture, landscaping, and tracks. Built in a mountainous area with beautiful landscape, dense forest, complex terrain, and inadequate land resources, National Alpine Skiing Center and National Bobsleigh Center in Yanqing are certainly the most challenging and complex.
The site harbors abundant zoological and botanical resources with steep terrain and changeable climate. When it comes to venue and tracks construction, ecological protection and restoration should be practiced at the same time along with the construction. BG strictly follows the requirements in Environment Protection Responsibilities Measures Matrix, and strictly practices energy saving and environment protection standards, contributing to ecological and environmental enhancement.
Tracks in National Alpine Skiing Center will be those with the highest standards in China once completed. The track in National Bobsleigh Center will be the first and only in China.
Construction schedule by the end of 2018 will be:
50% for Alpine Skiing Center; 50% earthwork for snow tracks; 100% for cableway infrastructure, cable equipment; 30% for snow making pipeline; technical roads open to traffic.
35% for Bobsleigh Center; license for track module construction; groundwork construction for track; refrigerating device ordering.
30% for supporting municipal engineering programs; 50% for road 2, linkage road earthwork, and pipeline construction; 40% for earthwork for snowmaking system.
As the national team for the construction and development of major programs, BG undertakes a number of programs of significance, including Yanqi Lake International Conference Center, Coal-to-Gas Switch, Affordable Housing, restoration and upgrading of Liangshuihe River, Seawater Desalinization for Beijing, etc. BG will follow the highest standards in the development of Olympic Venues in a bid to fulfilling the task of developing and serving the Yanqing Venue with premium quality.
